COMMON QUESTIONS

Q. Is it safe?
A. Lasers have been used for more than 30 years for a variety of medical cosmetic procedures including treatments of varicose and spider veins, age spots, acne scars and small facial wrinkles. The hair removal lasers has been shown through extensive clinical trials at more than 10 laser U.S. and Canadian laser research centers to provide safe and effective hair removal. The laser parameters were carefully defined by studying the anatomy of the hair follicle and precisely matching the laser light And pulse duration to the follicle size, depth and Location to safely and effectively remove the hair.

Q. What are the laser's characteristics and advantages?
A. The laser emits a gentle beam of light for only a fraction of a second that passes though the skin, to the hair follicle, where it is absorbed. The laser energy is transformed into heat which can disable the follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. With our state-of-the-art laser technology, the surface of the skin is kept cool with the special chill tip for your comfort. That makes the procedure relatively pain-free while effectively treating unwanted hair. After your treatment you can return to your normal activities immediately.

Q. What are the laser treatments like?
A. Laser hair removal is a gentle 3-steps process. First, we cleanse the area to be treated with mild soap. Then we shave it. Next, we gently apply the laser and in less than a second the follicles are disabled due to the laser energy absorption by the pigment in hair follicle. Depending on the size Of the area being treated, the time will vary from minutes to hours.

Q. Is the treatment painful?
A. Some clients describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable, while the others are saying that they don't feel anything. Our concern is always for your comfort. And if you decide you would prefer an anesthetic, our medical director can prescribe a topical anesthetic for you.

Q. Will laser hair removal work for me?
A. Because the laser's light energy is absorbed by the melanin, the best results have been achieved on darker, coarse hair. Our laser makes it possible to treat all skin types, including dark complexions.

Q. How many treatments do I need?
A. Hair grows in cycles. The laser works by disabling hairs that are in their growth cycle at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter their growth cycles at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the follicles in a given area. Our well-trained personnel will work with you to develop the treatment program that best fulfills your hair removal needs. In general, several treatments will be required (compare to many-many More electrolysis visits). However, most times you can expect to see up to 50% reduction in hair growth after just one treatment.

Q. What areas can be treated?
A. Virtually all areas of your body are safe for Laser treatments, with the exception of under the eyebrows. Perhaps the most commonly treated areas are facial, legs, under-arms, bikini in women and backs in men.
